Brad Passino Personal Philosophy
Life has been a roller-coaster ride for me. I have had my share of pain and sorrow as well as an abundance of love, peace and joy. Napolean Hill once stated: “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” I have learned that it is incumbent on the individual to actively seek out the benefit of every trial.
I believe in a higher power. For me that is God. I believe that every day is a gift from God and that we have a responsibility to make the most of every day. We are taught in the Word to number our days for their number is appointed. So I receive each day with joy and strive to make the most of it effectively balancing work with my personal life. But, in this balance, I believe in honoring your spouse or love relationship above all earthly things. Every day is a gift from God, another chance to glorify Him in word, thought and deed.
I believe in finding happiness from within. I find happiness within myself, not others. Relying on someone else to make you happy is doomed for failure. I believe Shakespeare was very wise when he wrote in Hamlet:
“To thine own self be true.”
This was Polonius’s final advice to his son Laertes. Polonius continues:
“Thou canst not then be false to any man.”
If you are not being true to yourself, you are lying to the people around you as well as yourself. In doing so, you may be doing them a great disservice. The only way to achieve your maximum potential and realize your destiny is to be true to yourself. I believe that you honor God and the gift of life by living a life that is true to your destiny. I believe that in being true to yourself you attract the most loving relationships and the most opportunities for success and growth.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12
I believe in personal growth. I continually endeavor to reach my highest potential. I work hard to achieve my goals. I also know when it is time to blow off steam and so I play hard as well. I place my personal relationships and in particular my love relationships above all earthly things. I desire to make their life better with from my unconditional love. I want to make a difference while I am here. I want to matter. I believe that we are all one like electrons in an atom, cells in a body, and celestial bodies in the universe. Therefore, I believe in loving, serving, honoring, and respecting all living things, plant or animal. So I love without expectation believing that it will all come back to me multiplied.
I believe in personal responsibility. I believe that one earns respect by being a person of honor and doing what is right. I do not attribute my failures or wrongdoings to others. I own my mistakes, analyze them, learn from them, and move on. I baptize each adversity as success and honor it as a life lesson. I let go of all baggage that does not serve me. I let go of past hurts and pains and aim to be mindful of what is now. I endeavor to use the now to create memories today that I will be fond of tomorrow while simultaneously striving to create the future that I have always dreamed of. I do today what I will be proud of tomorrow.
